Membership
After an extensive community-engaged consultation and planning process, CAAT was registered as an independent incorporated on the World AIDS Day, 2022, as a non-profit organization to best advance our objectives. We are now inviting interested individuals and community partners to join our membership to work together to advance our core objectives to improve the health and well-being of our communities.
Becoming our members: CAAT membership are open to all individuals 18 years of age or older and organizations who are supportive of the objectives of CAAT. Organizational members need to designate their own representative to participate in CAAT. Each member (individual or organization) will have equal rights to participate in all CAAT activities and each will have one vote in CAAT membership meetings.

Community-Based Research Participation
Since its founding, CAAT has been involved in research that responds to the priorities and experiences of the communities we serve. We lead our own research projects and collaborate with community organizations and academic partners on studies they lead.

Active Studies
Pathways to H.O.P.E. Needs Assessment
This study explores experiences with HIV care and services among immigrant, refugee, non-status, and newcomer (IRNN) women living in Toronto.
Who can participate: IRNN women (cis, trans, and non-binary people who identify with womanhood) who are living with HIV in Toronto and have been in Canada for less than 5 years. Service providers who work with this population can also participate.

Training Opportunities
We have multiple training opportunities for community members and service providers. Some active training opportunities are listed below:
ACB Youth Peer Educator Training
Rainbow Resilience Peer Service Navigation Training
This training opportunity is for ACB Youth (upto 30) who are living with HIV in Toronto/GTA?
The training covers:
- Introduction to peer roles and community-based work
- Service navigation and community resources
- Ethics, confidentiality, boundaries, and trauma-informed practice
- Facilitation, communication, and engagement skills
- Reflection, self-care, and ongoing development
Participants will complete evaluation activities as part of the training. Peer participants are eligible for compensation after completing the training.

This training opportunity is for peers with lived experience as immigrant, refugee, non-status, or newcomer (IRNN) people who identify as LGBTQ+. Peers from Eastern, Western, and Central Ontario will be considered.
The training covers:
- Introduction to peer roles and community-based work
- Service navigation and community resources
- Ethics, confidentiality, boundaries, and trauma-informed practice
- Facilitation, communication, and engagement skills
- Reflection, self-care, and ongoing development
Participants will complete evaluation activities as part of the training. Peer participants are eligible for compensation after completing the training.
