Rainbow Resilience

The Rainbow Resilience Project is aimed at addressing the intricate health equity needs of 2SLGBTQI+ immigrant and refugee communities impacted by HIV/HCV. Through a process of needs assessment, the project will identify the specific barriers and challenges faced by these communities in accessing essential healthcare services. Building on these insights, tailored intervention programs will be developed to provide comprehensive support, including workshops, support groups, and peer-led initiatives. Central to the project’s approach is the establishment of peer support networks and mentorship programs within the 2SLGBTQI+ immigrant and refugee communities. These networks will not only offer vital emotional and practical support but also serve as avenues for education and empowerment. Through ongoing capacity building and mentorship opportunities, community members will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate services effectively. Furthermore, the project will work collaboratively with service providers and community organizations to enhance access to culturally competent and stigma-free healthcare services. A comprehensive roadmap of services across the province will be developed, detailing available resources for navigating HIV/HCV and sexual health care. Evaluation and feedback mechanisms will ensure that interventions remain responsive to the evolving needs of the community, fostering resilience and promoting well-being within the target populations.
