Rajesh Pisharody

Rajesh is experienced in program design, implementation and evaluation, budget management, human resource management,and individualized client case management, with expertise in addressing the psycho-social determinants of health, including income security through government-funded programs, food security, and long-term stable housing. Considering the populations served at the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation, he ensures accelerated linkages to HIV and Hep C prevention, treatment, and care. He is knowledgeable and strongly advocates around sexual and reproductive health and rights, child rights and disability rights of marginalized populations. He effectively works with all key populations impacted by HIV, including children, youth and families, LGBTQ+, IDUs, commercial sex workers, prisoners, Indigenous communities, BIPOC, among other groups.Rajesh has significant experience supporting international refugees who are displaced with their immigration and resettlement processes using a trauma-informed framework. Rajesh demonstrates a democratic leadership style and promotes strong work ethics and values. He values mentorship and believes in the value of evidence-based community research in his work. Rajesh is very resourceful and focuses on community development and capacity building. With an academic background in life sciences, psychology and education and public health Rajesh is Knowledgeable of all public health and social work principles and he approaches his work from a non-judgmental, anti-oppressive, strengths and rights-based, social justice, disability rights, and sexual and reproductive health and rights approach. Rajesh Pisharody worked at the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation for many years and is currently the Executive Director of the Teresa Group.
